Daniel Farke already has green light as Leeds United supporters ask for quick manager decision

Daniel Farke has already passed one crucial test ahead of his potential appointment as Leeds United head coach – the popularity test.

Whites fans are understandably anxious to see a new face take the reins at Elland Road after weeks of uncertainty that have followed the club’s relegation in May.

The imminent start of pre-season training has only added to the pressure to confirm an appointment, particularly with such a big rebuilding job ahead as Leeds prepare their squad for the Championship.

Supporters are also waiting on confirmation of the 49ers Enterprises buyout, with LeedsLive understanding that the new ownership are hopeful the takeover will be ratified before a new head coach is announced.

As the wait continues, fans have been vocal about who should be chosen to lead the club into the new season. Asked which of the managerial front-runners they would like to see appointed, some 53% picked Farke.

Further to that, 87% of fans would be satisfied with the German taking charge this summer, of which 34% would be ‘very happy’ with the choice and only one in ten would be disappointed.

Respondents were offered five choices, with only one other man standing out as a popular choice – Graham Potter. The former Chelsea boss proved to be the first choice for one third of the fanbase.

Patrick Vieira came third with 9% of the vote, while Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker were the least favourable options.
