Renowned actor Daniel Day-Lewis has announced his return to the big screen after a seven-year hiatus from acting. The Oscar-winning actor will be starring in a film titled 'Anemone,' directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis. The project, a collaboration between Focus Features and Plan B, also features actors Sean Bean and Samantha Morton in key roles.

The news of Day-Lewis' comeback was confirmed on Tuesday, following sightings of the actor and Sean Bean riding a motorbike through Manchester, England. Day-Lewis had previously declared his retirement from acting after his role in Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Phantom Thread' in 2017, citing a compelling urge to step away from the craft.

Despite his absence from the spotlight in recent years, Day-Lewis made a surprise appearance at the National Board of Review Awards earlier this year to honor director Martin Scorsese. The veteran actor has a longstanding history with Scorsese, having collaborated on films like 'Gangs of New York' and 'The Age of Innocence.'

'Anemone,' currently in production, promises to delve into the complexities of familial relationships, particularly focusing on the dynamics between fathers, sons, and brothers. The film, co-written by Daniel and Ronan Day-Lewis, is set to offer a unique perspective on the intricacies of family bonds.

Ronan Day-Lewis, a talented painter with previous exhibitions in New York, is making his directorial debut with 'Anemone.' His artistic background brings a fresh and creative vision to the project, which has garnered excitement from industry insiders.

Focus Features chair Peter Kujawski expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, praising the exceptional script penned by the Day-Lewis duo. The partnership between the father-son team and Plan B is poised to deliver a compelling narrative that explores profound themes of kinship and connection to audiences worldwide.
