Daniel Craig unaware his head is bleeding as he completes Javier Bardem interview

Daniel Craig might have battled a host of bad guys during his time as James Bond, but he probably never took on a ring light - until now.

The Hollywood actor, 53, played the role of the special agent for over 15 years as the character put his life on the line time and time again.

But during a chat with Skyfall co-star Javier Bardem, the actor seemed completely unaware he had injured his forehead.

The duo were chatting on Variety's Actors on Actors series when the Spanish actor, 52, concluded their talk by pointing out the cut.

Pointing out a spot on Daniel's head, Javier said: "Let me ask you, my friend, this last question: 'What happened to you here?'"

A confused Daniel replied: "Where? Did I bash my head?" while trying to feel for the injury.

"Have I just got sandwich on my head? Have I done this whole interview— it's probably a part of a sandwich!" he said.

The pair burst into laughter as the Bond star took a look in the mirror to check it out.

He continued: "You know what it was? Christ. So, they've sent me this wonderful ring flash, which I've set up with an iPad in the middle of it. And I went like this like that and it just fell on my head just before we started!

"No wonder I get f***ing injured every time I do a movie!

"Thank you for pointing out. No, literally, I just was setting this up and it went donk and I'm like, 'ow! Jesus!' I'm not bleeding to death. It's just a whatever. If I don't get injured while filming, I'm not doing it properly."

During his stint as the suave agent Bond, Daniel often found himself injured on set.

During filming for Quantum of Solace, the star tore cartilage in his right shoulder, while he managed to rupture both of his calf muscles while filming for Skyfall.

During Spectre, Daniel also hurt his knee during a fight scene with Dave Bautista. The injury was that bad the snap was said to be heard by those on set.

He has now stepped back from playing Bond and odds are favouring Idris Elba to take over the role.

The 49-year-old actorand occasional DJ – hasn't been shy in throwing his name into the hat to play the part and now his chances have been boosted by the Bookies who are also backing him after franchise bosses confirmed they were considering the Luther star for the iconic role.
