In his last mock draft, Dane Brugler of The Athletic sent the Minnesota Vikings a cornerback by the name of Deonte Banks from Maryland. He was the first to include Banks in a mock draft and continues to believe that he is a good fit in Minnesota.
The 6-0, 197-pound Banks clocked a 4.35 in the 40-yard dash. He also posted elite results in his 10-yard split (1.49), vertical (42 inches) and broad jump (11-4). He is a physical, cover-and-clobber corner who is ready to step in and see starter-level snaps — exactly what Minnesota needs.
The film on Banks is excellent. He attacks the football with aggression and can keep up with the best receivers in college football. That kind of play is going to be appreciated by the likes of Brian Flores who loves a corner that man up on the outside.
