Dancing With The Stars' Nina Carberry as nervous on the dance floor as she is horse racing

Dancing With The Stars finalist Nina Carberry said she gets as nervous hitting the dance floor as does horse racing.

The 37-year-old, who retired two years ago, said that they're both nerve-wracking – but she loves the rush.

Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, the Irish jockey said: “They are very similar to be honest.

“I got a big kick from going on stage and the adrenaline rush I got as well was very similar to going in a race.

“It is probably what I needed in my life again. I was missing it for so long as it’s two years since I retired so it was nice to have that feeling back again.”

Nina also revealed she would rather win the Dancing With The Stars glitterball over the Gold Cup.

She added: “Obviously the two are completely different things, but listen, I would love to win the glitterball.

“It’s just been great being part of the show and a great journey for me – and I’m just delighted to be in the final.

“It would be brilliant to bring it back.”

And she told how she has been getting amazing support from her friend and recent Cheltenham winner Rachael Blackmore.

Nina said: “She’s a good friend of mine. She would often send me a text.

“She’s an incredible woman and has been getting better and better.

“She’s some role model for our industry. The whole industry is so supportive and I have been getting a great response from everybody and they are all tuning in to watch it as well.”

Each of the remaining finalists will take to the stage twice tonight in a bid to win the coveted glitterball trophy.

Ellen Keane, Nina, Erica Cody and Jordan Conroy will take to the floor to perform their “judge’s choice” number selected by Loraine Barry, Arthur Gourounlian, and Brian Redmond, from one of their performances in the series.

The fab four will then take to the floor for a second time with their “show dances” in a final bid to emerge victorious.

While the votes are coming in, viewers will be treated to a performance by a special guest act and then all members of the Class of 2022 on Dancing With The Stars will reunite onstage to perform one last time before the winners are crowned.

Meanwhile, fellow finalist Jordan has revealed he has had no time for love as the show is taking up all time and energy.

The rugby star said he has had to put romance on the back burner for a while.

He joked: “I’m very single because between dancing and rugby they have taken over my whole life.

“I don’t even have the energy to be dating because it’s just too much and as a man I’m very bad at multitasking, I can barely do the dancing and the rugby.

“Once this is over I’m going straight back into rugby and the love life can wait, I’m too wrecked.”

The Dancing With The Stars final is on tonight on RTE One at 6:30pm.
