Dancing With The Stars’ youngest contestant Missy Keating turned 21 yesterday, saying: “I want to make a name for myself.”
The model – daughter of Boyzone’s Ronan – is glad the RTE dance show has given her a chance to prove she’s a star in her own right.
She doesn’t intend to walk in her famous dad’s shadow now she’s all grown up, vowing: “I’ll do it my way.”
Missy told the Irish Mirror: “I am so proud of my name – I carry the Keating name with pride. I love my family and everything they have done.
“My family are my rock and my biggest supporters.
“I think in the last while I’ve really wanted to make a mark on the world myself and go my own way. It’s a new age, a new generation.”
Missy is planning to pull out all the stops on the hit show this weekend –after she missed last week due to Covid.
She said: “We have a very special birthday dance planned. I am dancing my favourite dance – the Charleston.
“It’s always my favourite to watch, so I’m really glad they have given it to me on the perfect weekend, with the perfect party song. We’re dancing to Out Out by Charlie XCX.”
Dubliner Missy revealed proud dad Ronan is flying in for a special birthday night. She added: “After the show I have a fun night planned. I’m going to one of my favourite bars, House on Leeson Street, and I’ll party with all my friends and family. My dad is flying in. It will be a night to remember.
