Dancing With The Stars judge Julian Benson to miss Sunday night's show because of sickness

Julian Benson will miss tomorrow night's Dancing With The Stars, RTE have confirmed.

The judge is ill and not well enough to take part in the upcoming Orchestra Week special, RSVP Live reports.

He will be replaced by creative director and former  Strictly Come Dancing pro Darren Bennett.

A statement released read: "RTE can confirm show judge Julian Benson is currently unwell and will miss tomorrow night's Dancing with the Stars on RTE One.

"During Julian's absence he will be replaced by guest judge and the show's creative director Darren Bennett."

Darren has replaced Julian in previous seasons where he also fell ill due to his ongoing battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

Just two weeks ago the TV favourite performed his brand new single Cha Cha Boom in aid of his charity, the Julian Benson CF Foundation, on the show.

Performing with Fly Youth of  Ireland's Got Talent fame, Julian wowed the audience and viewers at home with not only his fancy footwork but his singing skills too.

All proceeds from the single will be put towards building Ireland's first wellness respite retreat for families dealing with Cystic Fibrosis around the country.

Julian was diagnosed with the condition when he was just two years old.

However, the popular dancer has defied all odds and enjoys a thriving and successful career in the world of performance and choreography, despite the fact he was given a life expectancy of 13.

The 48-year-old insists Cystic Fibrosis has never held him back in life and, if anything, the illness spurred him on to seize each day.

Julian recently told RSVP Live: "It never defined me, I just got on with my life it just wasn't a thing. I wanted to be a dancer and performer. If anything, CF has given me drive, it's made me appreciate every day. When I go out and I can breathe, I can walk, I can talk and I can shimmy. I'm happy.

"I see the wood from the trees, when I hear people moan and complain over little things, I go 'you've nothing to moan and complain about'".

Dancing With The Stars  airs Sundays at 6.30pm on RTE One.
