Dancing With The Stars winner Carl Mullan has weighed in on suggestions on social media that his Sunday night victory may have been “a fix” due to his connections to RTÉ.
Mullan came out victorious on Sunday after a long battle against a plethora of Irish stars spanning several weeks, with the 2FM Dj and his partner Emily Barker emerging on top out of the other three celebrities.
Winning the show last night, awe-struck Mullan said: “Oh my god, Ais has been incredible, all of my family. I am so grateful to them.”

However, although the radio star was delighted with his win, many people took to Twitter to share their disagreement with the final verdict - even going so far as to suggest that Mullan’s win was potentially fixed.
One Twitter user posted: “No I’m sorry Carl and Emily winning that was a fix, he seems lovely but there’s no way you can say that the best dancer won there, Brooke and Damien were miles ahead, once again Dancing with the Staff and a 2fm presenter wins.”
Another added: “I wouldn’t normally use the word fix but seriously”.
One more posted: “An absolute fix I'd dance better myself.”
Despite any of these tweets, another added: “Please stop this rubbish about an RTE fix”.
Jokingly, Davina Devine also posted: “Sure give him the Late Late too while you’re at it” alongside the cry-laughing emoji.
However, following his victory, Mullan weighed in on this suggestion. When asked if his position working for the national broadcaster gave him an advantage, he said, as quoted by Extra.ie: “I don't know if it gives you an advantage.
“If it gave you an advantage you wouldn't be doing ten hours of rehearsals every single day. I didn't go into this thinking about winning or thinking ‘I want to top the leaderboard’. I just wanted to go out and give the best performance possible.”
