Dancing On Ice viewers were mightily impressed by Brendan Cole 's stand-in partner on Sunday night - calling on the one-off partnership to be a more permanent thing.
The former Strictly Come Dancing professional took to the ice with new partner Brendyn Hatfield over the weekend, following original pro skater Vanessa Bauer being replaced after testing positive for Covid-19.
The judging panel and viewers watching at home loved the former Brendan and the stand-in's performance to Beggin' by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons from Jersey Boys, for Musicals Week.
Guest judge Arlene Phillips even giving her old BBC colleague his first score of 10 of the series.
Vanessa was also cheering on her replacement and her partner - sitting in the audience after getting a negative Covid-19 prior to the show.
As the show aired, many took to Twitter to discuss how well Brendan and Brendyn worked together - with some suggesting they would like to see more from the one-off duo.
"Is it bad that I want Brendan to stay partnered with Brendyn rather than have Vanessa back. I love Vanessa but the the boys fit so well together. #DancingOnIce," one fan tweeted on Sunday night.
Another agreed, adding: "Brendan and Brendyn just showed what same sex pairs can do!! I loved that!! I like Vanessa but I wish he'd stay with Brendyn. That was FANTASTIC!!"
"Do we need Vanessa back #dancingonice," a third mused, while one Twitter user bluntly joked: "Vanessa ya sacked lol (only joking) #DancingOnIce."
Brendan was confirmed to be performing with Brendyn earlier this week, after it was announced that usual partner Vanessa had been struck down with Covid-19.
"I’m disappointed that I have tested positive for Covid and won’t be able to perform with Brendan for Musicals Week. But I am excited that Brendan gets to skate and challenge himself with an incredible fellow pro and friend in Brendyn," the professional skater revealed on Tuesday.
"I have no doubt they will absolutely smash this Sunday. I’m looking forward to returning to the competition to showcase more creative routines!"
As many viewers loved Brendan and Brendyn's performance, many missed seeing Vanessa on their screens.
"I'm glad you're okay Vanessa you are always missed on the ice and hope we'll see you again next week," one fan tweeted the star directly on Sunday night.
Another Twitter user watched Brendan's performance and mused: "He's stumbling all over the shop....He's a bit lost without Vanessa. Doesn't work, just feels like a gala exhibition piece to be honest. #dancingonice."
