A Dancing on Ice celebrity has suffered memory loss after a brain infection. Comedian Matt Richardson, 31, who was on the ITV skating show in 2021, was taken ill after going to a Green Day concert in Dublin.
Writing to his fans on Instagram, Matt said he is trying to piece together what happened, the Mirror reports. Underneath a picture of him and his brother at the concert in Marlay Park, Dublin, he said he suffered 'a lovely infection'.
He wrote: "My brother and I went to see Green Day in Dublin last week. And I sadly can’t remember it as I’ve had a lovely infection which caused some wonderful swelling around my brain the last few days.
"After a really cool trip to hospital I’m trying to piece it all together again. Hopefully the memories come back but if I owe you money, sorry you’re on your own x"
Fans and friends were quick to share messages of support for Matt. Love Island host Laura Whitmore wrote: "Hope you’re ok!!! X".
Comedians Paul Smith and Lauren Pattison also sent supportive messages, urging him to get well soon.
Matt replaced comedian Rufus Hound in Dancing on Ice and was partnered with Vicky Ogden. They were eliminated after just one week.
As well as Dancing on Ice, Matt is best known for his time on The Xtra Factor, where he presented alongside Caroline Flack in 2013.
