Dancing On Ice star Christopher Dean shares injury after 'nasty' accident

Ice skating legend Christopher Dean faced a trip to hospital after a 'nasty' accident.

The judge of ITV's Dancing on Ice had to get checked over by medical professionals after enduring an injury just days away from the start of the new series. Taking to Twitter, he revealed that he had broken his finger.

Sharing a snap of his bandaged finger, he wrote: "We were trying the Iron Lotus, but ended up doing a Half Nelson or did I just fall over a suitcase in the middle of the night." He shared a second snap, with the caption: "Yes broken."

Fans rushed to support the star with well wishes. One user said: "Hope you heal quickly! Poor you."

Another joked, as they said: "I would go with the iron lotus story. Makes it look more heroic." Deborah said: "I hope you’re on the mend soon."

Christopher sits on the ice panel alongside his skating partner Jayne Torvill as well as Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo. The programme is set to return for a brand new series on ITV with Darren Harriott, The Vivienne, Mollie Gallagher, John Fashanu, Carley Stenson, Michelle Heaton, Nile Wilson, Joey Essex, Ekin-Su and Siva Kaneswaran all taking to the ice.
