Dancing on Ice's Regan Gascoigne has message for Torvill & Dean after tearful breakthrough

Regan Gascoigne has sent a very public message to Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean in the aftermath of his big Dancing on Ice breakthrough on Sunday, which left Jayne in tears.

Regan , son of footballing icon Gazza, has been and still is the bookies' favourite to win the latest series of the ITV show.

However, while being a consistently high scorer, prior to Sunday he hadn't matched the heights of rivals Brendan Cole and Kimberly Wyatt.

That all changed when Regan and pro partner Karina Manta performed a Barnum inspired routine for a week themed around Torvill and Dean's iconic routines.

As sister Bianca looked on in the Dancing on Ice audience, Regan and Karina got a 10 from each of the judges, with Jayne moved to tears as she gave her comments.

Regan too got choked up as he revealed how much getting to do the routine and getting those scores meant to him.

Still on a high from Sunday's Dancing on Ice a day later, Regan took to Instagram to post a photo of himself and Karina in their costumes and write: "Torvill & Dean I hope we did you proud!!!

"Last Night was sooo Special. Having the chance to recreate such a momentous moment of your live was such an Honour! I will never forget last Night I wish I could live it over & over Again."

Paying tribute to Karina, Regan added: " @karinamanta It was a pleasure as always getting to Skate with you! On to The SEMI FINALS!!! Lets Goooooo."

Sunday night saw Stef Reid get voted out of the competition, after she lost this week's skate off to Kye Whyte, with all four judges opting to keep him in the competition.
