Dancing On Ice's Regan Gascoigne cries as dad Paul makes surprise appearance at final

Regan Gascoigne was in tears as his dad Paul Gascoigne made a surprise appearance during the Dancing On Ice final.

The professional dancer had previously confirmed that it would be his mum Sheryl and sister Bianca cheering him on during the final on Sunday, but fans were left feeling emotional for Regan as his dad Paul appeared in a VT on the show.

Regan was comforted by his skating partner Karina, as he burst out into tears watching back his best moments on the show. In the sweet video clip, his family spoke of how proud they are of him and how the trophy was his for the taking.

The dancer has got a huge support from fans online, who are willing him to win the show.

"Just love Regan he is such a lovely guy #DancingOnIce," one fan wrote online, as another added: " #DancingOnIce Two fabulous routines by Regan & Karina, they have been absolutely incredible & a joy to watch."

A third wrote: "Well done again Regan and Karina that was a great fun routine I enjoyed it earlier in the series and tonight I enjoyed it again! It's another 10 from me and good luck let's hope you might do the Bolero I think to me you're my winners :)," as a fourth penned online: " Regan is such a genuinely lovely person, especially with all that fame in the background."

Whilst Regan has impressed on the ice, he says his dad will never follow in his footsteps and go on the show.

"He’s got like every new knee and hip – they’re all metal, they’ve all been changed," Regan explained of his dad's health, "So I don’t think he’d actually be allowed to do it, it’d be a bit dangerous."

Regan admitted he is "genuinely shocked" to have made it to the final, as he hit back at fix claims.

"But when it comes to the ice skating, it is totally different. There's a right and a wrong, everything has to be in a sequence and a step, but maybe I know how to hold my arms and stuff, but that is about it. Everything else is just brand new," he said.

"I'm just loving it and really enjoying it. I'm embracing every moment of it, but I don't think I'm the dark horse."
