Dancing on Ice's Mollie Gallagher pens emotional message detailing how she 'didn’t feel like she would ever fit in, or belong, or be taken seriously'

Dancing on Ice's Mollie Gallagher, who is best known for playing Nina Lucas on Coronation Street, shared on Instagram her pride over her journey from an 18-year-old who didn't feel like she would ever "belong", "fit in" or be taken "seriously" to acheiving her 'big dreams'.

The 25-year-old is now a successful soap star who is currently taking part in ITV's much-loved figure skating competition Dancing On Ice, which is hosted by This Morning's Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and judged by Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse and figure skating champions Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill, and sees celebrities learn to skate and dance on ice in a bid to be crowned Dancing On Ice champion.

Posting a clip from the latest episode of Dancing on Ice which aired on Sunday, January 29, which saw the 25-year-old soap star performing to 'She Used to Be Mine' from the musical Waitress, Mollie captioned the video: "For 18-year-old mollie [sic] who didn’t feel like she would ever fit in, or belong, or be taken seriously.

"An 18-year-old working class girl from Salford with big dreams. She did it. Thanks so much everyone for all the votes and to @slongchambon as always for being fun, funny, and v patient everyday."

Mollie is paired up with Sylvain Longchambon, who is no stranger to the cobbled streets of Coronation Street as his wife and former Dancing on Ice partner is Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Windass in the show. The pair met ten years ago on the eighth series of the show and came fifth. They share a son together, seven-year-old Yves Joseph.

Fans and followers of the young actress soon flooded her comments with messages of support, including Samia who commented with a love heart emoji.

Fellow DOI star the Vivienne also wrote: "Gorgeous!!! Xxx", alongside Corrie's Sally Carman-Duttine who said: "Oh Mol. How gorgeous!"

User @andrewaustin296 too wrote: "The first step to opening many doors started when you joined corrie. You won an award which was thoroughly deserved doing corrie, the world is out there for you to grab. GO FOR IT."

@tracy_annette added: "Amazing such confidence in such a short time Good luck... Would love to see you win."
