Michelle Heaton has been hit with a painful eye infection as she starts her training for Dancing on Ice, with her also suffering an 'epic fall' on the training rink.
Liberty X star Michelle joins the likes of Love Island winner Ekin-Su, . The Wanted's Siva Kaneswaran and Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher on the line-up for the latest run of the much loved programme, with the celeb skaters set to take to the rink for the first time in front of viewers in the new year.
Before then, there is plenty of hard work to be done behind the scenes as the celebs work with their coaches and skating legends Torvill and Dean to get ready for that first Dancing on Ice live show. But, taking to Instagram on Thursday, Gateshead born singer Michelle revealed that her early training has been blighted with an infection in one of her eyes.
Taking to her Instagram story, with her phone in selfie mode, so followers could see her ailment for themselves, Michelle said: "Good afternoon everybody. I'm on the soup; I'm feeling a little bit under the weather," explaining: "I've had this eye infection now for six or seven days," as she pointed to the eye in question.
She continued: "It's killing me, so I've been learning how to skate with one eye, which has been really interesting, but still managing. Today I did some backwards skating, with backwards crossovers" Being honest on her progress, she added: "Tentatively, not very fast, but I'm still managing to do it with one eye. But yeah, I'm absolutely loving, loving my training."
Machelle also told fans she'd been in the wars already on the training rink, saying: "I had an epic fall today. Definitely winded myself and my coccyx is not very happy with me."
Michelle got the firm backing of celebrity friend Katie Price when she was announced as a Dancing on Ice contestant, with Katie saying she was tipping her to win.
