Dancing on Ice's Ekin-Su shares defiant message after Ofcom complaints over sexy routine

Love Island legend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has hit back with an inspiring message after her risque Dancing on Ice performance sparked Ofcom complaints, and she faces a skate-off next week.

The TV star, 28, recreated her infamous Love Island villa crawl during her Dancing on Ice routine - which host Holly Willoughby described as the show's 'sexiest ever skate' - only to find herself in next week's dreaded skate off, after the first week.

Ekin-Su's routine to Britney Spears’ hit Toxic and her glittering body suit, a homage to Britney's outfit in the music video, provoked 112 complaints to the TV regulator, as viewers at the time claimed it was 'not appropriate' before the watershed.

The Love Island winner has hit back with a positive message of self-acceptance, as she told her fans on Twitter : "Don’t ever compare yourself to others. You are not a copy, you are an original. Craft your own individuality and sense of style! And just be yourself.

In another tweet, Ekin- Su added: "Don’t study me. You won’t graduate."

Yesterday, the star shared a video of herself blowing a kiss on Twitter, as she thanked her supporters.

She wrote: "This is a kiss to everyone who supported me every since I was in the villa until now. I have SO much love for you all. You guys are like my family."

Many of her fans rushed to comment on the post, and reassure Ekin-Su that they believed in her, with one person writing: "And we will continue to support you x."

In the Dancing on Ice launch episode on Sunday, Ekin-Su scored a total vote of 21.5 points from the judges, as Ashley Banjo gave her a 5.5, Oti Mabuse scored her a 6, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean both a 5.

Yet, it proved to be a tough start to the series for the Love Island reigning champ, who landed in the bottom two after she received the least amount of public votes.

Her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti, who she won the show with, was among those watching from the audience as they cheered on the reality star, and like Ekin- Su, looked shocked at the result.

The following day the Italian hunk appeared on Good Morning Britain to lend his support to Ekin-Su after her disappointment.

He sat down with hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls and said he thought Ekin-Su ‘smashed it’ despite the result.

He said: “I was not surprised she could actually dance on the ice because I've been following her over the training, but what I was actually proud of was that she entered into the character and did a very good performance.

“The fact that now she’s in the skate-off, naturally she’s a bit sad. Last night we had a long talk, but I know that she knows she’s a strong woman and she’s very determined.

“She knows what she wants and I think this will now push her to be better and better week by week.”
