Dancing on Ice's Ekin-Su cheered on by Davide as she survives skate off after complaints

Dancing On Ice 2023 viewers couldn't contain themselves after Davide Sanclimenti was left smiling and clapping when his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu was saved by the public,

The show hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned for its second episode of the new series on Sunday night, seeing the likes of Carley Stenson, The Vivienne and Mollie Gallagher taking to the ice.

But as the show neared the conclusion, it was announced that Ekin-Su would be facing former footballer John Fashanu in the dreaded skate-off.

Putting on a jaw-dropping performance, Ekin-Su and her partner Brendyn Hatfield danced to Ariana Grande's No More Tears Left To Cry.

Meanwhile, John and Alexandra Schauman put on a performance to Norman Greenbaum's single Spirit in the Sky.

But, unfortunately for John, it wasn't meant to be as all four judges decided to save Ekin-Su, leaving Davide beaming with joy from the audience.

The Italian hunk looked smart in a white t-shirt and black blazer as he instantly jumped up and began celebrating for his girlfriend.

Fans instantly took to Twitter to gush over Davide's reaction, with one penning: "Davide is so happy and proud of Ekin-Su and my heart is BURSTING."

"I love how proud Davide looks every time he sees Ekin-Su," said a second.

Before a third penned: "Davide is so cute #DancingOnIce."

It comes after Love Island star Ekin-Su's performance in the show’s first episode sparked over 112 complaints to the TV regulator Ofcom, by Wednesday, as viewers at the time claimed it was "not appropriate" before the watershed.

Love Island winner Ekin-Su scored a total vote of 21.5 points from the judges, as Ashley Banjo gave her a 5.5, Oti Mabuse scored her a 6, and Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean both a 5.

Yet, it proved to be a tough start to the series for Love Island reigning champ Ekin-Su, who landed in the bottom two after she received the least amount of public votes.

Ekin-Su appeared noticeably gobsmacked at the result, which put her at risk of going home in the first week and quickly turned to talk with her dance partner Brendyn.

Meanwhile, Ekin-Su shared a defiant message following the complaints this week.

The Love Island winner hit back with a positive message of self-acceptance, as she told her fans on Twitter: "Don’t ever compare yourself to others. You are not a copy, you are an original. Craft your own individuality and sense of style! And just be yourself.”

In another tweet, Ekin-Su added: "Don’t study me. You won’t graduate."

Dancing On Ice airs Sundays at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
