Dancing On Ice line up 2019: Who is in this year's celebrity cast?

Dancing on Ice will glide back onto screens this weekend with a brand new batch of celebrities gearing up to get their skates on.

Twelve famous faces will be swapping their day jobs for the ice rink as they get to grips with a new skill and try to follow in the footsteps of 2018 winner Jake Quickenden.

From Grease icons to singing sensations and reality TV stars, there is no shortage of personality in this year’s line-up who are all hoping to impress judges Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo.

Here’s who will be competing this year:

Gemma Collins

(ITV)

TOWIE icon and 'memay' queen Collins will be hoping to glide to the top of the pile with Matt Evers. The 37-year-old has already embraced the rigorous training routine, revealing that she has dropped a dress size.

However, the GC has already thrown a diva fit over her Venga Boys entrance routine. So, buckle up. It’s going to be a bumpy series.

Didi Conn

(ITV)

Grease star Conn – famed for playing Frenchy in the hit musical film – is ready to “challenge herself” in the UK competition, although admits that she only became familiar with the show when she was approached.

Saara Aalto

(ITV)

The 31-year-old has a special place in ITV viewers’ hearts after finishing as runner-up in The X Factor back in 2016. Last year, Aalto took her singing career to the Eurovision stage in Lisbon with the song Monsters, finishing in 25th place for Finland.

Now, Aalto is trying something different as she takes to the ice with Hamish Gaman.

Jane Danson

(ITV)

Danson, who shot to fame on Coronation Street as Leanne Battersby, will be swapping the Cobbles for the ice rink. Her partner is Sylvain Longchambon, who is married to his former DOI celebrity partner and Danson’s co-star Samia Ghadie.

Mark Little

(ITV)

The Australian actor is hoping to add skating champion to his UK profile, having become a household name starring on Neighbours – which airs here on Channel 5.

James Jordan

(ITV)

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional has found a new show, but this time as a celebrity contestant. Starting at the beginning, Jordan will hope to find his skates alongside Alexandra Shauman.

Wes Nelson

Having shot to fame on Love Island over the summer, Nelson is set to bring his dazzling reality star smile to the ice as he swaps cosy nights in with Megan Barton Hanson for training sessions with Vanessa Bauer.

Richard Blackwood

(PA)

Comedian and actor Blackwood left Walford behind some months ago, after his EastEnders character was forced to flee. Now, Blackwood has pitched up on the talent show side of the small screen and will be looking to reign victorious with Carlotta Edwards.

Melody Thornton

The Pussycat Doll will be hoping to go one better than her former bandmate Ashley Roberts did on Strictly and lift the trophy come March.

The American singer will be swirling around the ice with Alexander Demetriou.

Saira Khan

Loose Women panellist Khan is one of the skating stars going for glory this year. She is no stranger to brutal TV competitions having finished runner-up on the first series of The Apprentice in 2005 and survived a couple weeks in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2016.

Brian McFadden

Fresh from snubbing the Westlife reunion, McFadden is ready for his next challenge of gliding on ice. He’ll be following in the skating steps of ex-wife Kerry Katona, who competed on the show back in 2011.

Ryan Sidebottom

The ex-England cricketer will be hoping to bowl everyone over with his skating prowess, in the capable hands of Brandee Malto.
