Dancing on Ice confirm Siva Kaneswaran as final contestant for new series

The line-up for the new series of Dancing on Ice is complete, with The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran the final skating star to be confirmed.

Over the last week, the ITV show has been drip feeding the celebs taking to the rink next year, with the likes of TOWIE favourite Joey Essex, ex footballer and Gladiators host John Fashanu, Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher and Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu all ready to start their training. On Monday, it was the turn of Liberty X singe r Michelle Heaton to be unveiled as a Dancing on Ice contestant and on Tuesday, the reveals concluded with the news that boyband icon Siva had joined the show.

Revealing the news exclusively to ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Siva said: “I’m very excited. I’m trying to be positive and not be in a fearful mindset! I’m looking forward to meeting all the cast. I want to learn how to skate and make my family proud of me and put on a show for everyone to see and hopefully not make a fool of myself!”

Siva shot to fame 12 years ago, when The Wanted' s debut single All Time Low shot straight to number 1 in the summer of 2010. The group also topped the charts a year later with the anthemic Glad You Came, with their other hits including Lightning, Heart Vacancy and Gold Forever. The group toured the UK earlier this year with a greatest hits arena tour, with the nationwide jaunt tinged with sadness as Tom Parker battled to be at as many shows as he could as he fought terminal brain cancer.

Tom joined Siva and bandmates Max George, Jay McGuinness and Nathan Sykes for the group's last tour date in Liverpool, just weeks before his death.

Other stars on the new Dancing on Ice line-up include actress and DJ Patsy Palmer, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne comedian Darren Harriott and ex Hollyoaks actress and West End star Carley Stenson.
