Dancing On Ice cast 'snub Kimberly Wyatt from secret show WhatsApp group'

Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt has been left feeling ‘awkward’ after it emerged she wasn’t included in a WhatsApp group of all the current Dancing On Ice contestants.

The 40-year-old singer and dancer is one of 12 celebrities taking part on the 2022 season of the hit ITV winter sport reality competition.

But it sounds like fellow stars like singer Rachel Stevens, Love Island star Liberty Poole and former Strictly dancer Brendan Cole could be snubbing her.

Reports have suggested that the cast are enjoying swapping messages as a group via the WhatsApp messaging service but that Kimberly: “was unaware the group even existed.”

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Kimberly didn’t know about the WhatsApp group, and when she found out it was feeling a little awkward, to say the least.

“She did feel a little excluded, especially as she has been getting on well with the others.”

However, ITV have taken steps to downplay the very suggestion of unfairness occurring behind-the-scenes of the dance contest.

A show insider insisted to the publication that the group in question did not include all the current contestants on the show, and added: “No one really uses the WhatsApp – instead they all DM each other.”

Back in January, Coronation Street icon Sally Dynevor revealed she had set up a secret WhatsApp group of her own between herself and fellow Corrie stars who have featured on Dancing On Ice in the past.

A string of Corrie stars have tried their luck on the ice, with Antony Cotton, Jane Danson, Lisa George, Samia Longchambon, Brooke Vincent and Andy Whyment all previously performing on the show.

Their experience has meant Sally – who has played Sally Webster on the ITV soap since 1986 – had some friendly faces she could turn to for advice.

She revealed: "I’ve set up a ‘Corrie Dancing On Ice’ WhatsApp group. They’ve been brilliant and really encouraging.

“I need their support and to give me tips on how they coped. It’s really interesting hearing all their stories and what they went through, because I’m going through exactly the same thing.”

Meanwhile, Oti Mabuse is tipped to return next year to reprise her role as a judge following the instant success she has enjoyed after swapping being a contestant on Strictly for a role on the rival ITV show this year.

A show source claimed to The Sun last week: "Oti has been asked to return for next year. She has been a huge hit.

"Oti is already very much part of the Dancing on Ice family - she fits in so well. She is full of good vibes and just makes everyone laugh."

The 31-year-old professional dancer replaced 54-year-old actor John Barrowman as a judge on the show.

The former Doctor Who actor left the series under a cloud of controversy as his departure followed reports he had exposed himself inappropriately on a number of past projects.

While Oti has proved a hit on Dancing On Ice, there are fears this will mean her spot as a pro dancer on Strictly could be sacrificed.

Oti recently insisted it is "not for her to say" if she will be returning to the BBC show that made her a household name.

Dancing On Ice continues on ITV1 on Sunday at 6pm.
