Dancing on Ice 2023: Full line-up, rumoured start date, hosts, judges and tickets

ITV has been building up excitement for the next series of Dancing on Ice with the announcement of the star-studded line-up.

The upcoming series of the hit dancing competition, which sees celebs take to the ice each week with the help of Olympic figure skating champions, is due to kick off in January 2023.

2022's series saw dancer Regan Gascoigne and his professional partner Karina Manta crowned the champions, and this year's line-up includes soap stars and former footballers who will be looking to take home the trophy.

Here's everything you need to know about the 15th series of the show, including who is in the line-up, how to watch it, when the potential start date is, and who will be judging the series.

When does Dancing on Ice 2023 start?

The next series of Dancing on Ice will kick off in early 2023, however no official start date has been confirmed yet.

The competition usually begins in the middle of January, with last year's series starting on January 16.

Given that the show airs on a Sunday it's likely that this year it could start on January 15 instead.

Providing there's no interruptions to the regular TV schedule, Dancing on Ice usually airs on ITV every Sunday at 6pm and the series should last around 10 weeks.

If there are any changes to the TV schedule, viewers will be made aware of this beforehand.

Who is in the line-up for Dancing on Ice 2023?

Ex-EastEnders star Patsy Palmer has also joined the 2023 series (ITV)

Although it'll be a few more months until Dancing on Ice kicks off, the celebrity line-up has already been decided and ITV has started to announce 2023's contestants.

The first Dancing on Ice 2023 contestant to be announced was Patsy Palmer, with the news being revealed on ITV's This Morning.

The 50-year-old actress is best-known for her role as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders but is now a DJ and the founder of Good & Proper Hair.

As the news was announced, she told Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby: "I just can't believe I'm the first one, thanks for that."

The next 2023 Dancing on Ice contestant to be announced was John Fashanu.

Speaking about signing up for the new series, the football legend said: "I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice. I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it.

"And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge!"

Ekin-Su was the third contestant announced (ITV)

It was then revealed that this year's Love Island champion, Ekin-Su Culculoglu, had also signed up for the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice.

The 28-year-old Turkish actress won the series alongside Davide Sanclimenti and the couple have seen huge success since coming out of the villa, including the confirmation of an ITV travel series.

In a video announcing her Dancing on Ice news she said: “I can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned, and see you on the ice.”

Nile Wilson said he wants to do something no one has ever done on the show before (PA)

Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson was the fourth contestant to be announced for the 2023 series and is planning to stand out.

Confirming the news on his YouTube channel, he said: "I'm going to be on ITV's Dancing on Ice! This is a really cool thing. I've certainly not done much ice-skating but I am so excited for the opportunity.

"I’m so excited to get into that routine and to feel like an athlete again. My biggest goal on the show is to do something that no-one has ever done before!"

Coronation Street's Mollie Gallagher was the fifth star confirmed for the dancing competition.

The announcement was made on ITV 's Lorraine and host Lorraine Kelly was joined in the studio by the actress, who plays Nina on the ITV soap.

She said: "I'm really excited. I've not really felt nervous yet, but being here today, now I'm feeling it. Back in the day, I've skated at Christmas markets but before the try out for Dancing on Ice, I went on the ice."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne is also part of the line-up.

Revealing the news on social media, The Vivienne said: “I'm beyond excited to announce that I will be competing in Dancing on Ice in 2023! This is honestly a dream come true and I can't wait to start training on the ice.

"To be the first drag artist to take part in one of the big UK reality competition shows is truly an honour. I think it's a big step forward for queer representation on TV.”

This Morning announced the one and only Joey Essex as part of next year's line-up.

He told hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: "I'm so happy, I'm so excited. It's more serious to what I normally do, I've done all the dating shows in the world. This is a bit more serious for me."

Darren Harriott joined the line-up (ITV)

Love Island Aftersun presenter Darren Harriott became the latest star to join the Dancing On Ice line-up.

Appearing on Trisha Goddard's TalkTV show, Darren said: "I’ve got giant feet, I don't skate and I can't dance!

"My family has already made bets - they’re making bets that I’ll fall on the first episode!”

Who is hosting Dancing on Ice 2023?

Holly and Phil will be returning as hosts (ITV)

Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield will be returning as hosts for the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice.

The hosting duo first joined the show together back in 2006.

Philip has presented the show ever since, with the exception of the three years that the series was off air from 2015 to 2017.

Holly presented Dancing on Ice alongside Phil for the first five years, but was then replaced by Christine Lampard between 2012 and 2015.

However, she returned as host in 2018 when the show came back on air.

Holly also missed out on hosting some of last year's series of the dancing competition due to testing positive for Covid-19.

Who is judging Dancing on Ice 2023?

Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean and Ashley Banjo are returning to the judging panel (PA)

Jane Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo will all be returning to the judging panel for Dancing on Ice 2023.

Torvill and Dean will be returning to their roles as lead judges.

The couple rose to fame after winning the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics, making history as the highest-scoring figure skaters of all time with their 12 perfect 6.0 scores, and are renowned for the iconic Bolero routine that saw them take home the medal.

They first joined the judging panel back in 2006 and have been recreating a version of their Bolero for every final of the Dancing on Ice series since.

Ashely Banjo, who is known as the creator of the dance troupe Diversity, began judging on the show in 2018.

Last year Oti Mabuse, who is best-known for her former role as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, joined the judging panel as a brand new face after John Barrowman stepped down from the role.
