Dancing on Ice 2022 winner revealed after nail-biting final

Dancing on Ice added another winner to the list in tonight's live final.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed judges Oti Mabuse, dancer Ashley Banjo and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean back to the panel. Giving their professional opinions on the performances their scores would help to determine a winner.

One of three remaining celebrity contestants would be dancing away as the winner. Celebrities and their professional partners Brendan Cole and Vanessa Bauer, Kimberly Wyatt and Matt Hanretty and Regan Gascoigne and Karina Manta will all be going head to head for a final time.

All three couples performed twice, scoring perfectly each time, before gearing up for the iconic Bolero - the famous routine originally performed by Torvill and Dean. Phil described it as: "The most famous ice dance of all time."

However, despite practicing for the all important dance all week long, one couple would not get to perform it. It was a tense moment as we discovered who came in third place as Phil revealed that Kimberly and Matt would be going home.

This meant that the final came down to Brendan Cole and Vanessa Bauer and Regan Gascoigne and Karina Manta - but only one could be crowned the winner. The show dragged out the suspense as they showed each of the contestant's best bits.

Finally, the votes were in. Phil said: "This series has given us some of the best skating we have ever seen on our rink. Just two couples remain. You have voted for your champion and we are about to be given that result.

"The winner of Dancing on Ice 2022 is..." The crowd cheered, before he continued and added: "Regan and Karina!" The studio erupted into applause as the contestants hugged each other.
