Dana White loses his patience over Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva boxing fight

Dana White has stated once again he "doesn't care" about Jake Paul's upcoming fight with UFC legend Anderson Silva.

Paul will take on UFC legend Silva in his sixth professional boxing match on October 29 in Arizona. The former UFC middleweight champion was considered as an opponent for Paul for several months having defeated Bruno Machado and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in his own two boxing clashes.

Silva had an illustrious career with the UFC which president White oversaw with the Brazilian considered one of the greatest stars in the promotion's history. However White has dismissed making a comment on the event after repeatedly being asked for his opinion on Paul's latest outing.

"I don't care about that," White quickly interjected when asked about Paul's fight with Silva by TMZ Sports. "I literally was saying the other day, everybody keeps asking me about Jake. This guy's not even in my sport! I don't care."

White had previously suggested that he believes Paul's latest outing with Silva was the right move but had also stated he wasn't interested with the event. “I don’t give a s*** what they do,” White told reporters before the fight was confirmed. "But if he’s really fighting Anderson Silva, and that’s true, it’s about time, he’s got a real fight on his hands there. Regardless of how old Anderson is, yeah, that’s a real fight.”

The UFC kingpin had previously suggested Paul should face Silva during their heated feud earlier this year, where he criticised Paul's level of opposition during their back and forth verbal barbs. Paul will finally return to the ring at the third time of asking this year having already had two fights cancelled.

He was first set to meet Tommy Fury with the pair signing the contracts before his rival was banned from entering the US which saw the fight shelved. Paul then elected to replace Fury with professional fighter Hasim Rahman Jr but the fight was also cancelled after his rival failed to show he was close to meeting their catchweight.

Paul has now inked on the dotted line to face Silva, who he was impressed with during his recent domination of Machado earlier this year. The YouTuber has put in a catchweight limit of 187lb as he looks to prevent another event from stalling. And he has admitted he agreed to their request from Silva's team to make sure the fight got over the line.

He told ESPN : "The plan is for me to fight at 185lb going forward and that's what I wanted this fight at given it was the weight Anderson Silva fought at during his reign as the most dominant UFC champion ever. Anderson's team asked if we could set the weight at 187, two pounds more than what I wanted. That level of professionalism and precision is appreciated, and of course I agreed to his request."
