Dana White insists Francis Ngannou hasn’t earned more money boxing than from UFC: ‘It’s all a myth’

LAS VEGAS – Dana White insists that Francis Ngannou hasn’t made more money in boxing than he would’ve if he remained in the UFC.

One of the reasons Ngannou left the UFC for PFL is to chase after his dream of boxing. He was able to land two mega fights, which resulted in a close split decision loss to Tyson Fury and a knockout loss against Anthony Joshua.

White has recently committed to promoting boxing, which he believes has a broken business model. When asked about Ngannou making more money in boxing than the $8 million “The Predator” said he was offered to fight Jon Jones, White heavily denied that claim.

“I know all the sh*t that you people don’t know, and I don’t care what everybody says,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters following Dana White’s Contender Series 74 on Tuesday at the UFC Apex. “It doesn’t matter to me. But that’s a fact. He was offered more money because I know the real numbers.”

White, who didn’t provide any numbers, also said the idea that you can make a lot more money in boxing is “not necessarily true.”

“That’s not necessarily true,” White told Kevin Iole. “That’s the bullsh*t publicly that people believe, but that’s not the truth. Total bullsh*t, total bullsh*t. That’s that whole myth that makes everybody go, ‘Oh, let’s f*cking go to boxing,’ and all this bullsh*t. Boxing don’t work. Boxing does not work. What makes it work? You need a Saudi f*cking trillionaire to make f*cking fights, and even Saudi trillionaires get tired of the f*cking bullsh*t. It’s all a f*cking myth. It’s all a myth.

“Like the whole statement you just made: That’s absolutely positively not true. It’s those types of f*cking statements and those types of quotes by the media that makes all this sh*t. All these fights are happening. It takes a Saudi f*cking trillionaire. Every f*cking guy that tries to do the boxing thing, they all end up losing sh*t loads of f*cking money. The model doesn’t work. A Saudi, unlimited amount of money pops up and that’s what makes these fights happen, and even guys with that kind of money get f*cking tired of the bullsh*t.”
