Dana White fires back at ‘f*cking lunatics’ who think UFC 279 card shuffle was staged

LAS VEGAS – UFC president Dana White isn’t buying any UFC 279 conspiracy theories.

After Khamzat Chimaev missed weight for Saturday’s card at T-Mobile Arena, the UFC was forced to shuffle the top three fights on the card with three new matchups.

There were some opinions the new lineup was better than the original, leading to other opinions that the entire situation was premeditated. White addressed those thoughts in the aftermath of the event and firmly shut it down.

“There’s some f*cking lunatics on the internet that think this was all staged and planned and whatever,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters at the UFC 279 post-fight news conference. “If you think that the crazy dudes that we had here this week could be orchestrated into something that would be … you’re literally out of your mind. This all happened and we had to deal with it. I just couldn’t wait to get tonight over with.”

White was agitated about an event that didn’t unfold to his organization’s original plans, and as he exited the press conference dais simply said, “Thank God tonight’s over.”
