Dana Carvey has admitted his Elon Musk impression isn't very good.
The 'Wayne's World' star has impersonated the Tesla boss on 'Saturday Night Live' but admitted it isn't his best work as the tech mogul's accent is so difficult to pin down.
Speaking on his 'Superfly' podcast, he said: "I can't do Elon Musk very well.
"But I can do something that sounds not like anything. He has an incredible accent — South Africa via Canada, via Pennsylvania. It's almost like, it's a little bit of Australian in there, a little bit of British."
The 69-year-old comic - who spent seven seasons on 'SNL' from 1986 to 1993 - has made recent appearances on the show as President Joe Biden, and also let slip that he will be extending his stint as a special guest on the sketch show next month.
He said: "When you leave the good nights at 'SNL', sometimes you do it with the host.
"You go under the bleachers and you come out. So I think it was John Mulaney. He just went right before me, and I think he was going, and then he started skipping. And I started skipping too, and skipping feels really good compared to walking or even running. It's kinda gentle.
"So now, if you ever see me on 'SNL' — I'm going back in December — you see me come off the stage, just remember, within seconds, I will be skipping for quite a while. That's kinda inside baseball."
Musk himself has previously criticised Dana's impersonation of him.
He wrote on X: "Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey."
And despite having guest hosted 'SNL' in 2021, he also hit out at the comedy series.
He wrote: “SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality.
“They are so mad that @realDonaldTrump won.”
