Dan Walker walks off at award ceremony after Piers Morgan swipe

Dan Walker walked off stage at an awards ceremony after Piers Morgan hit out at him. News host Piers issued a remark towards the Strictly Come Dancing star whilst appearing on stage at the 2023 TRIC Awards.

As reported in Birmingham Live, Piers said: "Obviously my initial pain realising that this was going to be presented to me by Dan Walker, whose note taking the reality of the enormous ego he's suffering with having to present it to me. But quite a lot you know about interviewing - you get on it with it."

He then shouted: "It's a joke, it's a joke!" Channel 5 star Dan headed over to where Piers was standing and appeared to recreate Piers' infamous walk off stage.

Back in 2021 Piers walked off Good Morning Britain after an argument with weatherman Alex Beresford. Piers then said: "He laughs but when I did that walk out, that was the day Good Morning Britain finally beat the BBC in the ratings."

He said: "Finally, I want to thank Meghan Markle because if you think about it without her contribution to my career I would never have gone to TalkTV. I would never have been standing here with this award!"

Earlier this year both Piers and Dan hit out at each other on Twitter in the wake of the latter's cycling accident. “If I were Dan Walker, and I’d been kicked off Match of the Day & BBC Breakfast, then washed up on Channel 5 daytime, and only got press these days by falling off a bike, getting a few grazes, and milking it like I’d survived a terror attack, I’d be this bitter too," Piers typed.

Dan fired back: "What a laugh. Interesting idea of taking a lesson on bitterness from a fella who has written article after article attacking a woman who had one drink with him and thought he was a numptie.”
