Former BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker has thanked fans for their support after he was hit by a car while cycling.
The 45-year-old presenter shared a series of images of his bloodied face while sitting in an ambulance, alongside a selfie with the NHS staff who were caring for him, earlier this month.
Dan explained he was "glad to be alive" after he had been in a "bit of an accident". He said his face was a "bit of a mess", and was left covered in blood.

On Tuesday, the Channel 5 presenter told fans he had taken his dog, Winnie, out for a walk and to the groomers. He said: "She’s much happier than she looks and smells gorgeous".
Dan added that his face is "coming on nicely". He said: "Hopefully back in business soon. Thanks for all your lovely messages".
Dan, who is also well-known for his stint on Strictly Come Dancing, left his role at the Beeb after six years back in 2022. He left to join 5 News at Channel 5, replacing Sian Williams.
Responding to his latest tweet, Phil said: "That’s a fast recovery mate. Nice. Hope you’re doing well", while Stacey said: "Dogs are ace, Dan". Chris said: "You're both looking good, your face looks much better".
