Dan Walker has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while out on his bike.
The 45-year-old Channel 5 presenter says he feels lucky to be alive after the horrendous accident this morning.
His face covered in blood and his nose left totally swollen, the very near miss left his fans horrified.
Dan uploaded a number of photos of himself in the back of ambulance to twitter.
The former BBC man praised the NHS for quickly coming to his aid but said he hadn't broken any bones after smashing into the ground.
He posted: "Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike.
"Face is a mess but I don’t think anything is broken. Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene. This is my smiling
"Thankful for our NHS."
It isn't immediately clear where the accident took place.
But last night, Dan posted an incredible photo of the sky over Sheffield to his near 800,000 followers.
Many were shocked by his graphic photos and sent him get well soon messages.
Fellow broadcaster Mark Clemmit told him: "Mate…..Much love from us."
One fan put: "Glad to hear you are in one piece: it must be terrifying. Take it easy."
Another told him: "Glad you are walking wounded Dan - it could have had a different ending. The NHS is amazing."
A third person told the former Strictly star: "Ouch! That looks painful. Nice to see you’re in good spirits though Dan. Hope you’re healed up soon."
Dam who hosted BBC Breakfast from 2016, replaced Sian Williams as the lead anchor for 5 News after she announced she was stepping down last year.
