Everyone is in a great mood when your team is winning. As the old saying goes, “Winning cures everything.”
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was asked what the three-game losing streak might have taught his team in 2024.
Quinn thought back to training camp and FOX NFL Insider Jay Glazer standing before the Washington Commanders, speaking on “mental health.”
“One thing that stood out to me in that talk on that day, Quinn said. ‘There’s 90 therapists in here.’ And he was referring to all the teammates. And when you’re going, which leads me to this: when you’re going through the tough spaces, who do you lean on?”
Glazer was right. We are all humans, fragile humans often. There are wins in life, there are losses in life. You will lose… and often. How will you handle it? What will be your anchor in life?
Quinn continued, “The guys you’re right next to, the guys that are in the room, there’s not an answer that’s going to come from outside. It’s about the group getting tighter and tighter. And you’ve also seen on those moments where it fractures and goes the other way.”

It's clear how much Quinn loves his players.

Quinn is correct; it does go hard the other way sometimes. This season, the Bears, after the Hail Mary loss to Washington, lost ten consecutive games, finishing 2024 at 5-12.
The Commanders also suffered a three-game losing streak, losing to the Steelers 28-27, the Eagles 26-18, and the Cowboys 34-26.
“So I think every once in a while, whether it’s a situation like that or where it can go either way, and you choose to bring it in tighter and talk about it and have conversations about what are we going to do improve. What are the things we need to do? That to me is a really big deal and the team has gotten closer and tighter because of going through the hard stuff together.”
