The last time Jared Goff completely balled out, Dan Campbell completely whiffed on giving him the game ball. He tossed a perfect game against the Seahawks and Campbell didn’t check the stats to realize how good his quarterback had been.
After Goff completely picked apart the Cowboys in a wire-to-wire win on the road, though, Campbell certainly didn’t forget. He brought the stats into the locker room with him and read them off to the team before handing Goff the ball.
“Let’s start here on offense — 18 of 25, 315 yards passing. Three tugs. 153.8 quarterback rating. Jared Goff,” Campbell said.
But he certainly didn’t seem to expect the moment that came next. Goff had a surprise for him. He gifted the game ball back to his coach to celebrate the big win.

“Our [expletive] head coach is our [expletive] rock now. We’re in [expletive] Dallas in his [expletive] place where he played. Game ball [expletive] goes to him,” Goff said.
What a thoughtful moment from Goff. The emotions seemed to hit him hard in the moment before he broke down the team.
The Lions, man. It’s hard not to love this squad.
