Damien Duff has weighed in on Roy Keane's departure from the Republic of Ireland camp in Saipan prior to the 2002 World Cup.
The Shelbourne manager, who won 100 caps for Ireland, sided with Keane's stance on the appalling facilities provided at the training camp.
Keane's departure sent shock waves through the football world as the Manchester United and Ireland captain was an integral part of both sides.
Duff didn't get embroiled in the controversy as he was focused on getting ready to represent his country on the world's biggest stage.
"It was big story - Roy, the whole World Cup - but I was just concentrating on myself, to be brutally honest," Duff told The 1895 Podcast.
"If you wanted to find out, you were going online on an old computer, which didn't interest me.
"I slept a lot. That was probably because I was sharing a room with Matty Holland. Brutal banter.
"I remember Mick was carrying [the interview] around with him. That is what it was.
"We were probably behind the rest of the world. Was it 10 or 12 hours difference, I don't know, so you would get everything the next day."

Over twenty years on from the incident, Duff agreed with the Cork natives rationale that divided the nation in opinion.
Duff admitted the facilities were "totally not acceptable" and commended Keane for having such high standards.
"You would have to totally agree with Roy," Duff added.
"It has been done to death. At the time, we were - I guess - young and just happy go lucky.
"We were probably laughing at the whole debacle of the thing but as a manager now, it was obviously totally not acceptable at the time and you see why Roy went off on one and I guess that's why people admire him so much, because the standards were so high.
"At the time, I didn't even have a standard, if you know what I mean. I was just football, football, football. Let's play, whether it be a concrete pitch, which it wasn't far off, or a nice pitch."
