Stapleford Park Country House Hotel has appointed Damien Doyle as its new general manager.
Mr Doyle has been appointed to lead the luxury hotel, in the Leicestershire countryside, near Melton, as the UK hospitality sector recovers from the impact of Covid-19.
Originally from Ireland, he started in hospitality at the age of 18, picking up experience in most departments and gaining his first post as a general manager almost 20 years ago.
A spokeswoman for the hotel said: “His appointment at Stapleford Park promises an exciting period of change that will enable the property to live up to its true potential.”
The country house hotel – which sits in 500 acres of parkland – features 55 furnished rooms and suites, as well as a pool, gymnasium, tennis courts and jacuzzi.
There is also a spa, two-AA-rosette restaurant, and the estate hosts everything from polo matches to archery and clay pigeon shooting.
Described as a “sanctuary, a haven, a place of inspiration” the estate has, over the years, welcomed guests including George VI and Edward VIII.
