Damian Lillard’s future remains up in the air, as the veteran point guard has been at the center of trade speculation ever since the Trail Blazers’ season ended. The point guard has not shied away from talking about his future over the past few months, most recently explaining which teams he’d be open to joining.
On Friday, Lillard posted what seemed to be his latest post on the upcoming offseason, this time going the vague route. Lillard went to Instagram to post a picture of him pointing to his wrist, which could be a sign that he thinks it’s only a matter of time before he is traded. Or. he could be suggesting it’s time for somebody to make a decision.
He captioned the post with three emojis: ♾⌚️🤫.
Of course, Lillard’s nickname is “Dame Time,” so this picture could have any motivation behind it. Still, the current Trail Blazer is the biggest name in the rumor mill at the moment, and he seems to be relishing the entire situation.
Lillard has just one year on his deal remaining, with a cap hit of over $45 million, before he is set to hit free agency in 2024 at 34 years-old. However, the Trail Blazers are coming off a second-straight season missing the playoffs, and they had back-to-back losing seasons for the first time in a decade.
