Joel Embiid’s postgame press conference following the 76ers’ playoff exit on Sunday raised eyebrows across social media.
Even fellow NBA stars have expressed some level of confusion over Embiid’s brutally honest comments after Philadelphia’s defeat against the Celtics in Game 7.
Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was among those left perplexed by Embiid’s remarks, and the All-NBA point guard took to Twitter with the perfect one-word reaction.
Seemingly stunned by the forthright nature of Embiid’s comments, Lillard quote tweeted a video of the press conference and wrote, “Huh?”
In Embiid’s comments, which have gone viral after the 76ers’ loss, the 2022-23 MVP claimed that he and star teammate James Harden “can’t win alone” and urged his supporting cast to “find ways to be better.”
While Embiid was critical of his own play following the Sixers’ playoff exit, he didn’t mince words when discussing the overall composition of Philadelphia’s roster, and Lillard couldn’t help but express his confusion after hearing the postgame presser.

Embiid and Harden combined for just 24 points during the decisive Game 7 on Sunday. Tobias Harris led all Sixers scorers with 19 points, while Tyrese Maxey provided 15. Embiid logged 15 points, the second time he was held to that tally in the series, while Harden only managed nine.
Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum poured in 51 points, the most ever in a Game 7 in playoff history, as the Celtics booked their ticket to the Eastern Conference finals, where a matchup against the Heat awaits.
