The ping pong balls were not kind to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
It was, of course, the night of the NBA draft lottery! The Orlando Magic took the No. 1 overall pick after winning the lottery, not much of a surprise considering they held one of the top odds at 14 percent coming into the night.
What was a surprise, however, was that the Sacramento Kings jumped into the No. 4 spot after having the seventh-best odds, adding a bit of spicy drama to the night. Unfortunately, that did mean that as a result, some teams would be moving down in the lottery with the Kings’ rapid ascension. One of those was the Trail Blazers, who dropped from the No. 6 spot to the No. 7 spot.
And when the moment came, Damian Lillard had a hilarious reaction to the news that his team fell to the seventh spot.

Ah, the sting of defeat. Not a fun feeling!
Of course, there are whispers that Lillard could very well be headed out of Portland by offseason’s end, but it’s never fun to drop back in the draft lottery, especially after a miserable 27-55 season.
