Damian Lewis has paid tribute to his late wife Helen McCrory, revealing the touching gesture that she made ahead of a previous appearance at Soccer Aid years ago.
The actor, 51, has been involved with the charity football match on numerous occasions since it launched in 2006, with his late wife Helen having supported him throughout.
And the Peaky Blinders star - who passed away last April after being diagnosed with breast cancer - is said to have made a sweet gesture during her first time at the contest.
Her husband recalled the experience on Good Morning Britain earlier, ahead of competing in the next instalment of Soccer Aid - which will held on Sunday (June 12).
Damian - who first took part in 2006 but has since been involved with several subsequent matches - said Helen had a surprise for him when she came to it for the first time.
He recalled going into his hotel room at the Lowry in Manchester, telling ITV presenters Ben Shephard, 47, and Kate Garraway, 55, that his wife had decorated the room.
The Homeland actor explained: "It was covered in Union Jack bunting and England flags everywhere which she'd gone out and bought. [She had] decorated the room with."

GMB host Ben said that it was an "amazing" gesture by Helen, with Damian - who married her in 2007 - further commenting: "She's with us. She's with us again this year."
Earlier in the interview this morning, Ben had described the award-winning actor as a "vociferous supporter" of Damian, with whom she had children Manon, 15, and Gulliver, 14.
Damian said his late wife was a "fabulous human being," adding that "people from all walks of life" have reached out to express that Helen had an impact on their lives.
And he also discussed the memorial service that was held in tribute at St Paul's Church in Covent Garden last month, which saw Helen's life celebrated by family and friends.
Damian said: "It was a special day." He recalled that she was "celebrated by her tribe", including actors, directors, producers and writers. He added: "She's much missed."
Soccer Aid for UNICEF will be held in London this year. A host of celebrities, including Damian, will take to the pitch at the London Stadium on June 12 for the annual match.
