Dame Judi Dench has said she refused to quit her acting career despite struggling to read and cut up her own food due to rare disorder.
The star has opened up about having advanced macular degeneration which has left her not being about to read or write.
The 87-year-old is set to talk about her condition in more detail with Louis Theroux according to The Sun.
However, despite the condition, Judi has said she won't be stepping back from acting any time soon, despite it being 'bad'.
She said: "I don't want to retire. I'm not doing much at the moment because I can't see. It's bad."
But she said she is determined to find a new way of learning her lines.
Judi said: "I have a photographic memory so a person saying to me, 'This is your line...' I can do that."
The James Bond star recalled how she went out for dinner recently with her partner David Mills and he had to cut up her food for her as she couldn't see it on her plate properly.
The NHS describes the condition as 'age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common condition that affects the middle part of your vision. It usually first affects people in their 50s and 60s'.
Judi has admitted that as she has got older she has found it difficult to maintain her independence.
The star said in January that she had a 'frightful fall' at her home in Surrey and was left stuck on the floor for 30 minutes afterwards.
The actress said she tripped over her carpet but wasn't able to get herself up straight away.
Due to being alone in the house, Judi had to turn to her parrot for help.
Speaking to Saga magazine, Judi talked about the incident.
She said: "I had a frightful fall not long ago. I tripped over the carpet, and there was nobody in the house and I was lying on the ground unable to get up for half an hour.
"I have a wonderful parrot who kept saying, 'What are you doing? What are you doing?' This is when you need a very convenient parrot who would phone somebody – but she didn't."
After recovering quite quickly, Judi said that she was able to get herself up after being on the floor for a total of half an hour.
Judi lives alone in Surrey so often finds herself on her own in the house, however she lives four miles away from 77-year-old boyfriend David Mills.
Meanwhile, her daughter Finty Williams, who she had with her former husband Michael Williams, and grandson Sam are also located nearby.
