Dame Deborah James has been out for a pint on a sunny afternoon with her mum. Heather James, posting under BowelGran on Instagram, shared a picture of the pair sitting by a river on her stories on Tuesday (June 21).
Captioned "A lovely relaxing day in the sunshine," the post was tagged with the location The Anchor in Pyrford. Located on the Pyrford Lock in the River Wey in Sussex, the pub called itself "hidden gem on the banks" of the river.
Cancer campaigner Dame Deborah has been quiet on her own Instagram account of late, but she did post on Tuesday with the news that bowel cancer symptoms will now be featured on Andrex toilet tissue packaging.
Announcing the news on social media, Andrex wrote: "Thank you @Bowelbabe for the brilliant work you're doing to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms."
Sharing another post about Andrex's partnership with Bowel Cancer UK, Deborah's caption read: "28 million packs! Coming soon! @andrexuk. Puppy we are embracing the poo."
The company donated £65,000 to the charity and within the next year, they plan on having bowel cancer symptoms on all of its packaging. People will also be directed to the Bowel Cancer UK's website by using the QR code on the toilet roll packaging, reports OK.
Dame Deborah has more than 930,000 followers of her own on the social network as Bowel Babe, while mum heather has more than 75,000. The 40-year-old mum-of-two has been at home with her parents for more than a month now on hospice-at-home care.
Dame Deborah was initially diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in December 2016. She has raised more than £6.5million after launching her fundraising efforts in May.
