Dalry man set to walk around the Galloway Forest Park to raise money for Ukraine

A gamekeeper is planning to walk around the Galloway Forest Park to raise money for the Ukraine relief fund.

Gavin McGhie aims to set off at lunchtime on Thursday, March 17, and won’t stop until he’s finished the following day.

And he’ll have his older brother Frank on the journey to keep him company.

Gavin, who lives just outside Dalry, said: “I was driving to my work on Monday last week and was thinking I wanted to do something.

“I’m a gamekeeper so I am quite active but never walked anything like this before.

“I’m going to do it in one go but I think it will probably take about 30 hours with short breaks.”

All money raised by Gavin will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
