The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) revealed that the DALI container ship, registered in Singapore and chartered by Maersk, dropped its anchor as part of emergency procedures after losing propulsion before colliding with Baltimore's Key Bridge. The ship management company, Synergy Marine Pte Ltd, reported to MPA that the vessel experienced a momentary loss of propulsion, leading to the collision with the bridge.
Currently, the DALI container ship is holding its position at the collision site and is reported to be in a stable condition. Fortunately, all 22 crew members on board are safe and have been accounted for. Our team has reached out to the Synergy Group, the ship's managing company, for further comments on the incident.
