Daley Blind warns Manchester United what to expect from ‘control freak’ Erik ten Hag

Daley Blind has given the Manchester United players an insight into what they should expect from new manager Erik ten Hag.

A new era has begun at Old Trafford after the arrival of Ten Hag from Ajax, where he was in charge for five seasons.

Few are more qualified to give their opinion on the situation than Blind, who returned to Ajax in 2018 after spending four seasons with Man United under first Louis van Gaal and then Jose Mourinho.

Blind made 45 appearances for Ten Hag’s side this season and believes United are getting a manager who is very firm in what he believes and who will expect everyone to be on board.

“A manager who loves to play attacking football, which is what Man United stands for, I think,” Blind told United Daily.

“A manager who knows what he wants. To keep everyone on board and with the same direction to get that winning mentality and winning trophies.

“In Ajax, he knows that everyone in the club is important and everyone needs to be involved to get to that winning mentality. He wants to keep everything close, and I think he is also a control freak.

“He wants to be on top of everything.”

That perhaps explains why United have already been rumoured to be interested in a number of players Ten Hag is very familiar with.

Frenkie de Jong is reportedly a midfield target, while Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is another who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.
