Dalbeattie Primary returned to a full and traditional end of year awards ceremony, the first for two years since Covid-19.
Mrs Duncan gave a review of the year where she drew attention to many highlights and achievements.
The prizes were then presented to:
P1 art winner: Esme Hicks. Runners-up: Jenny Carnochan, Mack Bell, Kelsey Copland, Erin Davidson, Moran Galbraith, Hunter Clayton and Olivia Aitken.
P6 art winner: Ava Drummond. Runner up: Eilidh Tallontire. History Cup winner: Jamie-James McNeill.
Jenny Corrie poetry award winner: Katie Dickie.
Lions Club citizenship winner: Archie Ross. Runners-up: Torren Dale, Elsie Gibbs-Brown, Rhuari Pickthall, Callum Murray and Max Adamson.
Janice Jamieson Award for reading winner: Matthew Hebdon. Runners-up: Finn Harris, Fraser Davidson, Aulay Webster, Nell Murray.
Babsie Caig Role Model joint winners: Carey McCubbin and Theo Robson.
Maureen McShane Trophy for Effort winner: Mack McLean.
As well as the presentation of all the special awards, the sports day trophies were re-presented along with the Paul Jones Cup to the football team.
Focus then turned to the staff who are sadly leaving before bidding farewell to primary sevens.
Before leaving the primary school hall, the primary seven pupils recited a Dr Seuss poem and then received gifts before making their way to sit at the high school side of the Heughan Hall, a tradition which has been established since moving to the joint campus.
