A Dalbeattie man will be cycling around Loch Ness to raise money in memory of his close friend.
Keith Dingwall will be taking part in next month’s Etape Loch Ness along with thousands of other cyclists.
And in the process he’ll be raising money for Prostate Scotland in honour of well-known Castle Douglas man Michael Coutts, who died last month.
Keith, who works for the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: “We were really close friends, he was part of our life for 20-odd years.
“He was a well known man in Castle Douglas. It’s 66 miles – I did 60 miles the other day so it’s not too bad but I think it’s quite hilly.”
Michael, also known as Mickey, was involved with NFU Scotland and NFU Mutual for several decades, retiring in 2021.
He also served as a special constable and was a member of Kirkcudbright and District Pipe Band.
