Two Dalbeattie Initiative projects have joined forces to organise a community event to support the UCI Championships coming to Dumfries and Galloway.
The region will host the para-cycling road race on August 9, part of a nationwide, 11-day programme of events across Scotland beginning on August 3.
Billed as the Dalbeattie Bike Fest, Rocks and Wheels and Dalbeattie E-bikes will host a range of activities at the Birchvale Theatre on Saturday, August 5 including a pump track and a live stream of the UCI Downhill Championships from Fort William.
Food, e-bikes, games and music will be among the other attractions during the free 12pm to 6pm event.
The Bike Fest follows the recent Rocks and Wheels Cycle Challenge, which drew an entry of 91 competitors, who each received a Rocks and Wheels snood and a certificate of participation.
The event raised a total of £1039.38, half of which was presented to Birchvale Theatre.
