The Dalbeattie community is being urged to get their entries ready for this year’s Grand Parade.
Dalbeattie Civic Day will be on Saturday, August 13 – the first time the event has taken place since 2019 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
And a key part of the day is the parade, when people in costume make their way through the town.
Civic Daze chairman, Jim Dingwall, said: “We’re hoping for walking entries but what we’re really hoping for is big floats.
“We’re slightly worried that with it not having happened for a few years people might not do it any more.”
After the parade, the focus will turn to Colliston Park with a packed line-up planned.
It is hoped a pipe band from Jedburgh will return with Dumfries Town Band also set to perform.
The magical Bruce Airhead will make an appearance and there will also be amusements, a family of kite fliers and a beer tent.
And in the evening there will be music from Josephine and the Shade.
As well as parade entries, the Civic Daze team are also looking for people to help with the tents at the start and end of the day.
