Dak Prescott Offers Strong Reaction to Jalen Hurts’s Record-Breaking Contract

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faces the Eagles twice each season in the NFC East.

Although Prescott is not a fan of Philadelphia during the season, Prescott was thrilled about Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’s landing a five-year contract extension worth $255 million, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history. The 24-year-old superstar also became the first Philadelphia player to sign a new contract with a no-trade clause in franchise history.

Prescott told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he was “proud” of Hurts on The Adam Schefter Podcast on Tuesday.

“Congratulations. I’m proud of him,” Prescott told Schefter. “… I’m a fan of the way he plays the game. I’m not a fan of his team and when they have success necessarily, but I’m a fan of Jalen. … He deserves every bit of [the new contract].”

Prescott is familiar with signing record-breaking contracts. In March 2021, Prescott signed a four-year, $160 million contract that included him earning $75 million in the first year of the agreement. At that time, it was the most of any NFL player in NFL history.
