Sports Interactive has explained why Daizen Maeda hasn't been included in the Celtic squad in Football Manager, following the January transfer window update for the game.
The updated squads were released earlier this week and eagle-eyed Hoops fans noticed they didn't have Maeda on their books, depsite all other signings being included.
The likes of Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate are in the squad, as are any other January arrivals, but there's no space for their new striker.
However, it isn't an oversight from Football Manager as it all comes down to rights, with the J-League not included in the game over licensing.
It means any player in that league can't be included in the database and because Maeda is only on loan from Yokohama F. Marinos ahead of a permanent summer switch, the developers don't have permission to put him in.
Sports Interactive, the makers, used their Football Manager twitter feed to say: "Unfortunately this is due to licensing as we aren’t able to include Japanese players into the game - despite his loan to Celtic, his rights remain with his parent club.
"We’re investigating."
