Daizen Maeda forms unlikely Celtic alliance as he issues Rangers derby reminder

Daizen Maeda says his assist for Jota against Rangers is one of his favourite moments since arriving at the club in January.

And the flying forward has also revealed his unlikely alliance with Josip Juranovic and Greg Taylor has helped him settle into life at Celtic.

Maeda has been a smash hit since his arrival and has helped galvanise a charge that has them on the brink of the Premiership title.

He has eight goals already but it's his running power down the left wing that has made him a key man to Ange Postecoglou.

And that role has seen him strike up formidable partnerships with Taylor and Juranovic, who have rotated in the left-back role behind him.

Speaking in a Twitter Q&A with fans, he named those two as his two favourite teammates as he said: "I communicate a lot with Jura and GT."

But it's not just his new pals who have helped him settle as he also paid tribute to the fans.

He added: "The fans and supporters received me warmly and that has helped me a lot."

Moving onto his favourite moments, he was asked about his top goals and assists from his time at Parkhead so far.

No surprise his strike just moments into his debut against Hibs was up there - but so too was his header against Bodo/Glimt, even if the result ultimately went against them.

But he also took a cheeky dig at Rangers - reminding them of his cross for Jota in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park.

He said: "I'd say my first goal in my debut game was one of my favourite moments.

"In terms of assists, I think I have two so far and one recently was against Rangers.

"And in terms of goals, I think the game we had in the Europa Conference League, the header, even though we lost the game, I liked that goal."
