Another case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Bristol as the number of patients continues to slowly rise day by day.

NHS England's latest figures show the city's cases reached 1,294 today (Tuesday, July 14), compared to the 1,293 patients recorded yesterday.

Meanwhile South Gloucestershire's cases have risen by one to 745, North Somerset's is still at 912, and Bath and North East Somerset's figure remains at 338.

Nationally, 291,373 Covid-19 patients have been recorded following a daily rise of 398.

As several businesses reopen across the city this week, another  coronavirus  related death in Bristol  was confirmed just this weekend.

It had been almost three weeks since anyone died in our city's hospitals after contracting Covid-19 but someone died with the virus on Saturday (July 11) at the  University Hospitals Bristol and Weston  (UHBW) trust.

The trust runs both the Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital and 152 of its coronavirus patients have died during the pandemic.

North Bristol Trust,  which runs Southmead Hospital, has recorded 119 patient deaths since the start of the pandemic, the most recent of which was on June 22.

Nationally, 44,968 deaths have been recorded following a daily rise of 138.
